Wynwood, Endura settle copyright suit
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, February 9, 2009
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Case goods resource Wynwood Furniture said it has settled a 2008 copyright and trade dress infringement lawsuit against Endura Furniture.
The suit, filed last April, had accused Endura of copying key design elements of Wynwood's Cordoba, Antiquo Blanco and Granada collections.
Wynwood President Joseph Hill said Endura has agreed to immediately stop production of two collections that allegedly infringed on his company's designs.
Endura, an importer of bedroom, dining room and entertainment furniture, also paid an undisclosed sum of money to Wynwood.
“We are pleased that the intellectual property laws reward companies like Wynwood who take the time and effort to product new and original designs,” Hill said.
