60 nations gathering for Expo

Denver — Bedding producers and suppliers from more than 60 countries will gather here this month for the International Sleep Products Assn.'s 2002 Expo. The biennial convention and trade show is expected to draw about 1,800 attendees.More than 175 exhibitors will be on hand, showcasing almost every conceivable product related to the mattress industry. The Expo is set for March 6-9 at the Colorado Convention Center.
"The purpose behind this event is to boost productivity, increase the cost-effectiveness and improve the design and quality of bedding products worldwide," said Susan Perry, ISPA's executive vice president.
She said attendees will see demonstrations of the most advanced bedding equipment, machinery, tools, supplies and services available today.
As usual, the show will also offer several seminars and social events. One of the highlights will be the industry business breakfast and keynote address, set for Friday, March 8, at 7:30 a.m. William Taylor, co-founder of Fast Company business magazine, will speak on "Business as usual is not an option!"
Other speakers include: Mick Lunzer on the success of Seattle's famous Pike Place Fish Market; Dr. Kevin Clancy, "Counterintuitive marketing;" Dr. George Lucas, "Leading with vision and courage along an uneven path;" Ed Day, "Managing and reducing transportation costs to increase profitability;" Suzanne Gust, "Keeping your customers coming back;" and Ted Shepherd, "Retail performance improvements."
