CFMA to host charity golf tournament
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, February 9, 2009
ANAHEIM, Calif. — The California Furniture Manufacturers Assn. will host the 2009 Larry Parnell Golf Classic on Friday, March 6. The event is named in honor of the former Oakwood Furniture executive, who died of cancer in 2005.
The tourney will take place at the Champions Club at the Retreat in Corona, Calif.
Organizers say the course is known for its views and will offer seasoned golfers a challenge, while the tournament's scramble format should make it fun for the novice. There will be putting, longest drive and hole-in-one contests and several prize drawings.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Children's Hospital of Orange County, a research and treatment hospital that gave care to 200,000 children last year, regardless of their family's ability to pay.
A continental breakfast, barbecue lunch on the course and hors d'oeuvres in the evening are included in the entrance fee. Player's registration fees start at $125 and sponsorships start at $250.
More details are available on CFMA's Web site at www.cfma.com or by calling Andrea Messina at (714) 632-6800.
