Kennedy, who joined Belfort as senior director of sales, marketing and merchandising in August 2007, will continue to be responsible for store operations. In addition, he will oversee Belfort's 90,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution facility.
"Dan has a proven track record of successful management and organization that will enhance the communication and teamwork between the front and back end of the business," said Michael Huber, Belfort CEO.
Before joining Belfort, Kennedy was president of Kloss Furniture of St. Louis, where he led the day-to-day operations of 13 stores and a distribution center. Earlier, he was president of management and sales training firm Selling Retail International in Tulsa, Okla.
"I am very excited to have someone of Dan's caliber lead Belfort as we look to capitalize on the opportunities for growth in the Washington, D.C. retail sector," Huber said. "Dan's strong leadership and broad market knowledge will bring additional focus on the day-to-day operations in every aspect of our business."
