CFMA endorses FurnitureFan as Web services provider

ONTARIO , Calif. — The California Furniture Manufacturers Assn. has endorsed FurnitureFan to provide CFMA members with Web marketing services and site designs.
Sudbury, Mass.-based FurnitureFan has already developed Web presences for CFMA members Oakwood Interiors and Sandberg Furniture, and it has another in the pipeline for Arbek Furniture. Satisfying these companies went a long way toward winning the CFMA's support, said Mitch Russo, chief executive officer of FurnitureFan.
"Both Oakwood's and Sandberg's (digital product) catalogs are getting about 30,000 product views per month," said Russo. That means site visitors clicked on 30,000 different product images.
FurnitureFan is offering CFMA members branded Web sites with electronic catalog capability as part of the high-traffic FurnitureFan.com portal site. The company also offers electronic coupon and survey-sending capability; linking to an existing home page; and training.
"The CFMA is taking a proactive role to keep furniture manufacturers alive, well and thriving," said Larry Parnell, president of the CFMA and of Oakwood Interiors. "By providing each of our members with access and support to a site as rich and user-friendly as FurnitureFan.com just makes sense."
Parnell said FurnitureFan can give CFMA members a relatively inexpensive way to establish a Web presence.
FurnitureFan is a Web site for consumers that aggregates furniture-related information, retailers and manufacturers and draws an average of 800,000 unique visitors per month. The site does not sell furniture, nor do its members sell online via the site.
A year ago, FurnitureFan got a similar endorsement from the National Home Furnishings Assn. More than 100 NHFA member retailers have since joined the online furniture community.
FurnitureFan is offering CFMA members participation in its Active Leads Program, in which consumers expressing interest in a particular manufacturer's goods are pointed to local stores that carry the product. If there are no retailers in the area, manufacturers have the option to answer the inquiries.
