WILMINGTON , Del. — DuPont's new subsidiary, DuPont Textiles and Interiors (DTI), and Ciba Specialty Chemicals have agreed to jointly develop and market offerings for DTI brands, which include DuPont Teflon fabric protector and DuPont Stainmaster.
Steve McCracken, group vice president of DTI, said the alliance will help DuPont "meet our vision of meeting consumer needs and strengthen the differentiation capabilities of our trade partners. We look forward to benefiting from each other's innovations and introducing exciting new products with our customers that are desired by the consumer."
As part of the agreement, DTI will provide Ciba with access to the resources in its strategic business units including apparel and home textile, consumer marketing and brand management. In turn, Ciba offers a broad textile effects portfolio and expertise in textile chemical formulation, mill sales, technical application and quality assurance.
As part of the alliance, the Teflon marketing team, led by Teresa Kleinhans, global business manager, will be integrated into the DTI strategic business unit and will continue to have responsibility for the Teflon fabric protection business.
