GERS users to meet in August
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, March 3, 2002
SAN DIEGO — Retail software solutions provider GERS Retail Systems will hold its 20th annual user conference, Retail World 2002, at the Westin Horton Plaza here Aug. 19-22.
New to the conference will be "Users' Choice" sessions, created in response to suggestions from GERS customers. All sessions, workshops, and seminars will tie in to the theme "Turning Technology into Results" and will focus on how GERS customers can realize the greatest return on their current investments in technology.
"Retailers today are looking for ways to streamline their supply chain, lower inventory investments, and improve service to customers," said Don Vander Beke, executive vice president of marketing and support. "They want measurable results. We're putting together a three-day event that will explore how our retailer partners can use technology to help them improve their business operations today, while also positioning them for future growth."
GERS will recreate its popular "Retail Experience," which will simulate a retail floor, buying office, accounting department, warehouse and corporate office to demonstrate solutions at work in their environments. GERS will also offer a series of hands-on labs for customers interested in learning more.
Details on the session schedule, speakers, and special events will be announced later.
