Sligh opens Vietnam facility

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, February 16, 2009

HOLLAND, Mich. — Prompted by what it says are strong retail placements of its Loft 102 home office and entertainment line, Sligh Furniture has established a new warehouse and distribution center in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, that will be operated by Worldwide Logistics.

From that facility, the company will offer mixed-container shipments of Loft 102 groups to anywhere in the world, including four-week deliveries to the U.S. West Coast.

Loft 102 debuted at the July Las Vegas Market and features what Sligh describes as a blend of function, quality and affordability. Home office groups feature laptop docking stations, phone and power outlets, wire management, surge suppressors, task lighting and storage options.

Loft 102 will be available in stores beginning in March. Retail pricing for a Loft 102 desk, credenza and hutch by mixed container is in the $3,300 to $3,800 range.

“Loft 102 has proven there are positive retail opportunities in the marketplace,” said Rob Sligh, chairman of Sligh. “The new distribution facility allows our retail partners to maximize those opportunities with mixed containers of Loft 102 home office, home entertainment, modular and Micro-Offices.”

Retailers can also take delivery of Loft 102 products from Sligh's warehouse in North Carolina.
