DULLES, Va. — DULLES, Va. — Industry veteran Dan Kennedy has been promoted to president of retailer Belfort Furniture here.
Kennedy, who joined Belfort as senior director of sales, marketing and merchandising in August 2007, will continue to be responsible for store operations. He also will oversee Belfort's 90,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution facility.
“Dan has a proven track record of successful management and organization that will enhance the communication and teamwork between the front and back end of the business,” said Michael Huber, Belfort CEO, who previously also held the president's title.
Before joining Belfort, Kennedy was president of 13-store Kloss Furniture of St. Louis and earlier was president of management and sales training firm Selling Retail International.
“I am very excited to have someone of Dan's caliber lead Belfort as we look to capitalize on the opportunities for growth in the Washington, D.C., retail sector,” Huber said.
