WHFA, NHFA offer retailers 'Survival' hotline

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, February 16, 2009

ROSEVILLE, Calif. — The Western Home Furnishings Assn. and the National Home Furnishings Assn. have launched a phone hotline designed to help retailers through the current economic climate.

The groups created the Business Survival Hotline through a partnership with the consulting firm JRM Sales & Management. The hotline is available free to WHFA and NHFA members and is designed to help retailers with questions or concerns they have about doing business today.

“When the market changes, many small businesses have difficulty adjusting to the situation,” said Sharron Bradley, executive director of the WHFA. “We can help them change the way they do business to survive in this volatile marketplace.”

The hotline is available 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST Monday through Friday. Retailers will talk to advisers who can provide information and arrange free and confidential counseling. Those who call after business hours can leave a message and expect a call back within 24 hours.

Joe Milevsky, CEO of JRM, said consultants will be able to help retailers with questions on organizational development, inventory, merchandising, marketing, business plans and more.

Retailers in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming can call the WHFA hotline at (866) 966-6062. Retailers in all other states and Canada can call the NHFA hotline at (866) 966-6063.
