LAS VEGAS — LAS VEGAS — There was a Prodigy in Leggett & Platt's Fashion Bed Group showroom here. It is a lower-priced, retail-ready version of the Starry Night adjustable bed system that L&P unveiled a year ago.
The Prodigy adjustable bed system, developed by L&P, incorporates anti-snore and iPhone capabilities, and also comes with a wake-up alarm that softly massages the sleeper awake. Retail pricing will be about $1,800 to $2,000 in queen.
L&P officials say the Prodigy features one-touch, anti-snore technology that allows the user to change the sleeping position of a snoring partner by seven degrees to open the nasal passages, which can alleviate mild to moderate snoring, the company said. After 30 minutes, the bed gently returns the sleeper to the original sleep position.
The Prodigy bed can work on dual twin mattresses, which allows each sleeper to use the wake-up massage alarm system at the time that he or she chooses.
The bed also has a built-in sleep timer that automatically moves the bed from an active position to a sleeping position, so that users can recline in bed and later assume a sleeping position after they have fallen asleep.
In addition, the bed has a dual temperature-controlled surface that uses liquid-based Peltier technology. The mattress can be set to pre-heat or pre-cool settings, ranging from 68 to 117 degrees.
Prodigy also has a WiFi remote control featuring an LED screen. iPhone and iPod touch applications can be used to operate various bedroom electronic systems.
