WHFA honors Dave Lane

SAN FRANCISCO — The Western Home Furnishings Assn. honored its retiring executive director, Dave Lane, with a benefit fundraiser during the San Francisco Winter Market.

The event at the Mark Hopkins Inter-Continental Hotel, along with additional donations, raised $9,000 for the Parkinson's Institute in Sunnyvale, Calif. Lane suffers from Parkinson's disease.

Under Lane's leadership, the WHFA membership grew from 389 members to 950, said Ronny Bensimon, of the WHFA and Los Angeles retailer Dearden's. Bensimon was one of a dozen speakers who paid tribute to Lane during the dinner.

Lane also received the President's Award from the California Furniture Manufacturers Assn., presented by CFMA President Larry Parnell of Oakwood Interiors and CFMA Executive Director Kelly Ramirez.
