Master Design to close factory in Mississippi
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 20, 2002
EUPORA, Miss. — EUPORA, Miss. — Case goods importer and manufacturer Master Design will close its 160,000-square-foot factory here at the end of March, the company said last week.
All product that has been made in Mississippi will be sourced from China, and there will be little or no interruption in shipments to customers, the company said.
Master Design's management has been working to sell the company, and the factory shutdown will make the operation more salable, said Norm Joslyn, vice president of sales. A distribution center in Eupora will remain open, at least until a potential new owner can analyze its efficiency, he said.
The company also has a distribution center in Ontario, Calif.
