Baker joins PeopLoungers

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 20, 2002

Industry veteran Vandy Baker has joined motion furniture specialist PeopLoungers as vice president of merchandising, a new position.

He most recently was vice president of sales for Covington Upholstery Fabrics. Prior to that, he held posts with BenchCraft, Action, Berkline and Masco. Covington has not yet named a replacement.

"PeopLoungers has re-created itself as a company with the opportunity for unlimited growth during a time when business conditions in general have been difficult," Baker said. "It proves PeopLoungers has a good team with good focus."

President Jimmy Green said PeopLoungers' growth in recent years prompted the expansion of its management team.

"Vandy's broad furniture experience and strong management skills make him an excellent choice to help us achieve our goals," Green said. "His reputation of service to the furniture industry is as impressive as you'll find."
