Canadian marketgoers celebrate
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 20, 2002
TORONTO — The busiest winter market here in 10 years wasn't without its moments of fun and fellowship as the industry celebrated excellence in the making and marketing of Canadian furniture and the 30th anniversary of the market.
Presentation of the 2002 Trillium Awards kicked off The Canadian Home Furnishings Market. The gala banquet, which drew manufacturers, suppliers and retailers, also honored Bruce MacPherson Sr. of The Gibbard Furniture Shoppes and Pat Thody of Simmons Canada for their lifetime contributions.
Furniture/Today sponsored the reception marking the four-day event's 30th anniversary. Until its name change this year, the show was known as the winter edition of the Toronto International Home Furnishings Market.
