Arbek taps executives
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 6, 2002
CHINO, Calif. — Case goods maker and importer Arbek has hired two former Great American Oak executives, naming Duane Utt national sales manager and Mike Starkey vice president of manufacturing.
Utt succeeds Jeff Santanello, who left the company in October, and will be the sales manager for all divisions, said Arbek President Carlos Morales.
Utt was vice president of sales for six years at manufacturer Great American Oak, a home entertainment furniture specialist that said in October it was shutting down. Previously, he spent 18 years in retail.
"Duane Utt brings a wealth of retail and manufacturing knowledge acquired in a lifetime career spent in large part in home goods selling," said Morales. "He will play a key role in enabling Arbek to grow sales in home entertainment furniture, along with increasing market share in domestic and imported case goods."
Morales said Starkey "brings a solid background in furniture manufacturing management. He will be focusing on improving quality and implementing systems to facilitate dealer deliveries."
