Claritas statistics available

HIGH POINT — Data on furniture and bedding sales in nearly 300 metro areas, provided by targeted marketing information specialist Claritas, are available in spreadsheet form from Furniture/Today market research.

Sales estimates and projections also are available for a variety of other home furnishings categories, including bedroom and bathroom linens, area rugs, lamps and dinnerware. The furniture and bedding sales figures appeared in Furniture/Today's Retail Planning Guide, mailed to subscribers on Dec. 31. The estimates and projections were made prior to Sept. 11.

Beginning with data from the Census Bureau's Consumer Expenditure Survey, Claritas estimates consumer expenditures for each U.S. metropolitan area using an array of more than 1,600 local government and private sources.
