SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco Mart will award Lifetime Platinum Passes to Vic Vecchione of Trend Manor and attorney Seymour Seidscher at a luncheon just prior to the opening of the winter market here.
Vecchione has been at the San Francisco Mart for 55 years. After World War II, he and a partner began manufacturing modern occasional furniture by hand. In 1949, he bought out his partner and moved the renamed Trend Manor Furniture to a new Los Angeles factory.
In 1997, the California Furniture Manufacturers Assn. named Trend Manor its Manufacturer of the Year. The company now occupies a 75,000-square-foot facility in City of Industry, Calif.
Seidscher has been an SFM tenant for 50 years, evolving from a furniture sales representative to a showroom tenant to an attorney representing clients in the furniture industry.
He came to the Mart as a rep for Sanford Furniture in 1949. Later, he joined Ed Rosensteil, and their showroom featured Hiatt, Butler and Kosuga furniture lines. In 1972, he began attending law school at night and joined the California Bar in 1978.
Today, Seidscher represents a variety of home furnishings manufacturers, salespeople and retailers. He also serves the County of San Francisco as judge pro tem.
