UNION CITY, Pa. — Ethan Allen's Cherry Hill manufacturing division here has received the 2001 Governor's Award for Environmental Excellence. The facility was recognized for a wood finishing system that substantially reduces waste and air pollution.
In September 1999, the plant began using tabletop finishing techniques that both cut waste and increased product quality. The system lead to a major expansion at the plant and meant more jobs for the local community.
Ethan Allen said it spent $2.75 million on the expansion and $1.1 million on new equipment.
