McKinnon steps down
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, December 2, 2001
TYNGSBORO, Mass. — Bob McKinnon is stepping down from his positions at Circa 1801 and Doblin Fabrics and has agreed to sell his interest in Circa 1801 to Joan Fabrics Chairman Elkin McCallum. Circa 1801 and Doblin are both units of Joan.
McKinnon left Century Furniture and its parent, CV Inds., where he was president and chief executive officer, in July 2000 to join Joan Fabrics as president and chief operating officer.
In February of this year, McKinnon became an equity partner with McCallum in Circa 1801, a decorative wovens fabric company that McCallum had just acquired. McKinnon became president and CEO of both Circa 1801 and Doblin.
In a statement last week, McCallum said McKinnon "will be available as needed to perform consulting services over an extended period of time. Bob's assistance in running the company came at a very important time. It allowed me to focus on many issues that were important to our long-term success. Bob has been a good friend for many years and I continue to value our relationship."
McKinnon was not immediately available for comment.
