Kathwari will succeed Prillaman as AFMA chief

NEW YORK — Farooq Kathwari, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Ethan Allen, was elected president of the American Furniture Manufacturers Assn. for 2002 at the group's annual meeting here last week.
Kathwari and other officers will begin their terms in January.
Also elected were Steve Kincaid, Kincaid Furniture, first vice president, and Rob Spilman, Bassett Furniture Inds., second vice president. This year's AFMA president, Albert Prillaman of Stanley Furniture, moves to chairman of the board.
Several new members were elected to three-year terms on the AFMA board. They are Alfred Audi, L.&J.G. Stickley; Wyatt Bassett, Vaughan-Bassett; Alan Cole, LifeStyle Furnishings International; Art DeFehr, Palliser Furniture; Mike Dugan, Henredon Furniture; Charlie Greene, Classic Gallery; Billy Hodgson, Standard Furniture; Mickey Holliman, Furniture Brands International; Steve Mischen, Preview Furniture; George Revington, Samuel Lawrence Furniture; Kevin Sauder, Sauder Woodworking; Randy Short, Stanford Furniture; Tommy Tomkins, Cresent Mfg.; Bill Ward, Carter Furniture; and John Wentworth, Moosehead Mfg.
