LONDON — Trade-Link is launching a fabric show called Living Space next March in South Africa that will be supported by the country's government, which will fly in and host 150 of the world's top buyers of home textiles.
Bill Davis, head of Trade-Link based here, said the show will focus entirely on international buyers.
The company also organizes the Textiles D'Interieur Premiere show held concurrently with the Decosit show in Brussels, Belgium, and Scoperta in Switzerland, held each spring in conjunction with the Proposte show in Como, Italy,
"Manufacturing is moving closer to its sources of raw materials," Davis said, "and South Africa has a substantial manufacturing capacity and the ability to supply multi-faceted, sophisticated retail markets.
"This is an immense opportunity for buyers," he said.
The show is set at Kelvin Grove, in Cape Town, March 12-14.
The next Scoperta show in Chiasso, Switzerland, is on tap for May 7-11, 2002, and the next TIP show will be Sept. 7-10, 2002.
