Palliser hires Ikea vets

WINNIPEG, Manitoba — Industry veteran Michael McMullen has been named vice president of retail operations for Palliser Furniture, a new position.
He reports to Peter Tielmann, vice president of sales and marketing, and heads the new retail initiatives EQ3 and Palliser Rooms.
For the past 16 years, McMullen has served in several senior merchandising, management and sales positions with Ikea North America, most recently as one of three North American sales managers.
Before that, he taught business at Wilfred Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario.
In a related appointment, Christina Petersson was named product development manager for the newly established EQ3 division.
A graduate of the design school in Boras, Sweden, she was previously a product developer at Ikea Sweden. She also developed Ovvio, a retail furniture concept in Italy, and a children's store in Sweden that sells everything from pacifiers to furniture.
