HIGH POINT — Case goods and accent furniture specialist Emerson et Cie has named Ken Gardner as national sales manager of its Bentley Churchill upholstery division.
Gardner, most recently national sales manager at upholstery source Pearson Co., earlier was sales manager at Burlington Inds. and president of Globe Furniture.
He reports to Mark Smith, president of Emerson et Cie, which acquired Bentley Churchill last year. Smith was acting sales manager for the division before naming Gardner to the position.
"I felt that between my duties at Emerson et Cie and being involved in product development, I couldn't devote the necessary time to another group of sales reps," said Smith.
Gardner will manage Bentley Churchill's sales force and will aid in the presentation of the line and other marketing initiatives.
"Ken is an excellent fit with Bentley Churchill because of his most recent and extensive experience with high-end upholstery," Smith said. "He has established an excellent rapport with a number of key stores and design accounts across the country. He brings to us a vast array of expertise in knowing what sells and how upholstery needs to be sold."
