Colonial opens 2nd store in Pittsburgh

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, November 25, 2001

Colonial Gallery has opened a 24,000-square-foot home furnishings store in suburban McMurray, its second store in the Pittsburgh area.

The store features galleries by Pennsylvania House, Harden, Century, Lane, Hickory Chair and Henredon.

General Manager Karen Sauers and Store Manager Tracy DeCock run the family owned and operated business. Colonial Gallery was founded in 1961 by brothers Max and Joe Alfery, the fathers of the current management team.

The original store, located in Whitehall, occupied a large four-story home and was a key factor in the brothers' decision to specialize in Colonial style furniture.
