Lee opens Dallas warehouse

Dallas — Dallas— Bedroom and dining supplier Lee Furniture has opened its first U.S. warehouse here and is stocking it with several of the company's most popular items.
The 150,000-square-foot facility will carry six best selling bedrooms and seven dinettes, representing about 20% of the company's line, said Keely Rhodes, president of sales. He said the warehouse will keep adding items.
Orders will be delivered in seven to 14 days of receipt of order.
Rhodes said the warehouse should help attract a different segment of retailers for Lee. "I think it's hard to have growth as just a straight container or straight warehouse; you kind of need both," he said.
The warehouse offers bridge pricing for container dealers and warehouse volume pricing for dealers with orders of $2,500 or more. The minimum order price is $750.
"We realize that it is becoming harder and harder for the retailer to carry their own inventory right now. So while building partnerships, we're dong what we can to get them through these hard times," Rhodes said.
The company has been an FOB container shipper from China, Malaysia and Vietnam, and has a warehouse in Shanghai, China.
