Spring Air plans plant in Oklahoma
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, February 23, 2009
Durant, Okla. — Durant, Okla.— Spring Air will open a 351,000-square-foot mattress plant here this summer, which will be its largest manufacturing facility in the country.
Spring Air said the plant, which will employ as many as 300, was selected for its access to interstate highways that will enable the company to serve its customers in the Midwest.
"As our company continues to grow, we needed a state-of-the-art facility that would bring us closer to our customers in this region of the country," said Spring Air acting CEO Steve Cumbow.
More than 100 state and local business, political and civic leaders joined the company for the announcement.
Spring Air said the plant represents a $30 million investment, but some of that amount will be defrayed by government incentives, the total of which will be known in 30 to 45 days.
