HICKORY, N.C. — Phil Brown has joined full-line manufacturer Century as merchandise manager of Century Leather and Chair, succeeding Bruce Schronce, who will enter the Baptist ministry.
Brown had been national sales manager for leather manufacturer Leathercraft for four years.
This isn't the first time Brown has succeeded Schronce: He previously took Schronce's place at Leathercraft after Schronce joined Century. Before joining Leathercraft, Brown was with Cox Mfg. and Classic Leather.
He reports to Bill Hayes, senior vice president of home furnishings for Century.
Succeeding Brown as Leathercraft's vice president of sales is David Sigmon, a 20-year company veteran who formerly was vice president of manufacturing. He had also spent time as a sales representative and in factory production.
Sigmon's assistant, Lee Windsor, a nine-year company veteran, has been promoted to vice president of manufacturing. Don Waldrop, who has been chief engineer, succeeds Windsor as assistant plant manager.
Sigmon and Windsor report to Jack Donahoe, Leathercraft president. Waldrop reports to Windsor.
