Graves back at Southern as VP of sales, marketing

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, February 23, 2009

Conover, N.C.— Richard Graves has rejoined Southern Furniture here as vice president of sales and marketing.

He succeeds Mike Delgatti, who recently joined the leather upholstery and recliner division of Hooker Furniture as executive vice president of merchandising.

Graves most recently was director of marketing at upholstery, wicker and rattan furniture resource Braxton Culler, and earlier held senior management positions with retailer JCPenney and manufacturers Lexington and Peters-Revington.

He was vice president of sales for the wood division of Southern Furniture from 1999 to 2002.

In his new role, Graves' primary responsibilities will be the supervision of a national sales force and upholstery product development. He also will oversee merchandising, research and development, engineering and customer service.

Southern also has named Allison McCall director of merchandising. She previously held similar posts at manufacturers Clayton Marcus and Broyhill.
