Leon's Furniture says it's poised to grow
Retail chain debt-free, says President Terry Leon
Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, February 26, 2009
SIMCOE, Ontario — Leon's Furniture is poised to not only survive the recession but to grow as a result of it, the retail chain's top executive told the Simcoe Reformer during a visit to the company's store here.
Company President Terry Leon said the chain is debt-free and will be "in a position to expand more quickly and reasonably than in a number of years" because the downturn will drive down real estate prices and create opportunities to buy out competitors.
Leon is visiting all 64 of the chain's stores as the company celebrates its 100th year. The company also is offering a credit promotion of 100 weeks of no payments, no interest.
