Michaels resigns at Waverly
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, November 25, 2001
NEW YORK — Christiane Michaels has resigned as president and general manager of fabric supplier Waverly.
No successor has been named.
Michaels, who joined Waverly in 1996, will become president of the White Barn Candle Company, a new position in the Bath & Body Works division of Intimate Brands, a company of The Limited.
In her five years at Waverly, Michaels has raised the company's market profile by incorporating home fashions and licensing. Gerald Puschel, president and chief executive officer of Waverly parent F. Schumacher & Co., said Michaels has been an asset.
"I am happy she has this opportunity and wish her the best. She will be missed," he said.
Michaels said she is grateful for the opportunity she had at Waverly to execute her vision for the brand. She said the staff is in place at the company "to continue the growth strategy we have developed. I am confident the brand will remain successful and strong."
