FIDX Jan. 28 meeting to focus on XML
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, November 25, 2001
HIGH POINT — The next working meeting of the Furniture Industry Data Exchange has been rescheduled to Jan. 28.
The meeting in Charlotte, N.C., originally set for early December, will focus on XML-based standards for an order inquiry document, order status document and electronic envelope standards. FIDX members hope to finalize those standards at the January meeting, according to Mary Frye, chair of the FIDX executive committee, and Ron Martell, steering committee chair.
FIDX has invited retail system vendors to the meeting to discuss their plans for supporting the new electronic document standards.
Manoj Nigam, president of EXIM Technologies, led the work on the schema for an electronic mail envelope. Rick Killen of Thomasville Furniture tackled the order status inquiry request and the order status report documents.
For more information on the meeting or to register, see the Web site www.fidx.org.
