HIGH POINT — The American Furniture Manufacturers Assn.'s media relations program has been recognized for excellence by the American Society of Association Executives.
AFMA received the 2001 Gold Circle Award for Excellence and Innovation in Association Management, winning a Certificate of Achievement, the second-highest honor for excellence in the field of communications.
Entries are judged on how well efforts are aligned with the association's strategic plan, the effectiveness of the program design, implementation, use of multiple media channels and achievement of objectives.
"We are honored that AFMA's media relations program has received such recognition," said Jackie Hirschhaut, AFMA's vice president of public relations. "This award serves to further validate our efforts to heighten consumer awareness about furniture and to keep the furniture industry informed of pertinent issues."
