By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, December 16, 2001
CHANDLER, Ariz. — Furniture maker Kincaid Home Furnishings has opened its first dedicated store in Arizona in Chandler Pavilions II here.
The 22,000-square-foot store will feature Kincaid's exclusive Laura Ashley line, and prints and furniture designed by Thomas Kinkade. The Laura Ashley line is scheduled to launch in other U.S. stores in mid 2002.
Store Manager Sherry Pepper will handle daily operations.
Kincaid began in Hudson, N.C., in 1946 when founders George and J.Wade Kincaid began making cedar chests and wardrobes in a small building with five employees. Kincaid, now a La-Z-Boy division, today employs over 1,400 workers in five U.S. plants.
Two more Arizona stores are planned, one in North Scottsdale in spring 2002 and the other in the Northwest Valley in fall 2002.
