Bestar eyes traditional furniture stores
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, October 28, 2001
HIGH POINT — Bestar unveiled at market a series of ready-to-assemble furniture targeting traditional furniture stores.
The Canadian company isn't abandoning the warehouse clubs and office product superstores that continue to sell its small office/home office workstations, but is looking to develop more business in the furniture store channel.
With seven groups of home office and home entertainment furniture, the new Signature series is smaller-scaled than most Bestar collections. Finishes, hardware and accents are appropriate for the home.
The designs blend contemporary and traditional styles with new elements such as solid-wood moldings and painted-board accents.
To support the program, Bestar has developed point-of-sale signage and a catalog kiosk that displays finish samples and hardware, and has pocket brochures for consumers.
"With the kiosk, the consumer is informed and can make a decision," said Julie Brault, director of marketing. "The kiosk will be a silent salesman in the store."
