NHFA's Haimsohn aims to deepen industry ties
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, October 28, 2001
HIGH POINT — Howard Haimsohn was elected president of the National Home Furnishings Assn. at its meeting during the October furniture market here. He assumes office Jan. 1.
Haimsohn, of Lawrance Contemporary Home Furnishings in San Diego, cited the need to continue the NHFA's mission to serve all home furnishings retailers, to provide leadership on government issues and industry education, and to keep strengthening ties with industry manufacturers.
"The challenges that face our industry are great," he said. "We must pull together to renew consumer demand and desire for our product. We must work together, through all segments of the supply chain, to create a better buying experience for consumers."
Other officers are Chairman Dave Cavitt, Furniture Enterprises of Alaska, Anchorage, Alaska; President-elect Pedro Capo, El Dorado Furniture, Miami; Senior Vice President Jim Gabbert, Gabberts, Minneapolis; and Treasurer Dennis Novosel, Stoney Creek Furniture, Stoney Creek, Ontario.
