Wilson joins importer as sales, marketing VP
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, September 30, 2001
HIGH POINT — Steve Wilson has joined Fine Furniture Design & Marketing, the startup import company launched by Larry Moh and Geoff Beaston, as vice president of sales and marketing.
Wilson most recently was Eastern region vice president of sales and marketing for Universal. He has more than 20 years experience in retail, as a sales representative and in manufacturing, where he also worked for Lexington and Braxton Culler.
"Joining FFDM in the launch stage is a tremendous opportunity," said Wilson. "We are literally starting with a blank page — as a startup, without previously established networks, we can develop our relationships to enhance our distribution strategies and our dealer partners' profitability."
Company President Beaston said one of Wilson's primary responsibilities will be to "foster our customer-friendly business strategy, enabling us to truly be a trouble-free vendor." Wilson also will develop a nationwide sales and marketing organization.
FFDM recently moved into a corporate office and showroom at 1107 Main St. in High Point.
Moh, who in his 42 years in the industry has founded such companies as Universal and Hong Kong Teakwood, is the chairman of Fine Furniture Group, the Shanghai, China-based company that is the parent of FFDM.
