Decosit's international social scene
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, September 30, 2001
BRUSSELS, Belgium — Gin slings in the British style, wine in the Spanish style and Hurricanes in the New Orleans style added to the international atmosphere at many of the parties held in the first days of the Decosit and TIP9 shows here.
On opening night of the TIP9 show at Parc Elizabeth, exhibitors and buyers were invited to get acquainted at a "Pimms and Nibbles" party sponsored by the show's organizer, Trade-Link.
The Spanish party has become a tradition at Decosit and the 2001 event was well attended and enjoyed by hundreds of market exhibitors and visitors. The party is sponsored by ATEVAL, an entrepreneurial group of Valencian mills, and the Spanish Intertexile Board, which operate under the banner Home Textiles from Spain.
To celebrate the launch of its Villa NOLA line, Blumenthal Printworks threw a New Orleans-style gathering, serving guests Hurricanes and draping them with Mardi Gras beads.
