Winston-Salem, N.C. — Thanks to Stanley Furniture, a bedroom at the Ronald McDonald House here has a fresh, new look.
The bedroom, one of 17 in the house, has been furnished with Stanley's Contentment collection from its Young America line. The donation included a set of bunk beds, a queen bed, a dresser, a chest of drawers and two bedside tables.
The house, which opened in 1984, provides lodging for families of children receiving medical treatment at local medical facilities.
"The Stanley furniture helps us create a warm home environment for families experiencing very difficult times," said Nancy Spaugh, community relations coordinator for the Ronald McDonald House. "With 17 bedrooms, you can imagine how much furniture we need. We are so grateful for the support of companies like Stanley."
In addition to the furniture donation, Stanley executives provide and serve a dinner at the house each year.
"Stanley Furniture's involvement with the Ronald McDonald Houses connects our day-to-day work with families in our community," said Glenn Prillaman, product manager of Young America. "We have a strong commitment to the houses and encourage others to donate their time, products and services."
