Her car makes patriotic statement
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, October 7, 2001
Fort Myers, Fla. — Robb & Stucky employee Amanda Pelfrey recently put her artistic abilities to patriotic use.
Her Volkswagen Fox was in need of a paint job. Instead of taking it to a body shop, Pelfrey, who is an artist, took up her brushes and painted the entire car as an American flag.
Pelfrey is a half-time corporate receptionist and half-time Robb & Stucky Fort Myers store floor coordinator. In her off time, she flexes her creative muscles by sewing, painting and making wreaths and crafts.
She painted her car completely by hand over four-and-a-half hours using outdoor/metal paint.
"I did it because I wanted to make a statement, a tribute," she said. "I woke up Saturday with a vision in my head and I went out and did it."
