Lane names Ray Allori to new distribution post
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, October 7, 2001
TUPELO, Miss. — Ray Allori has been named dedicated distribution manager, a new position at Lane Furniture Inds.
Allori will be responsible for the continued growth and execution of the current programs in 300 Comfort Showcase and Comfort Furnishings galleries and will be part of Lane's longer term-strategies with dedicated distribution, said David Coke, vice president of business development.
Allori has more than 20 years of retail experience with Heilig-Meyers, where he was vice president, merchandising, and Montgomery Ward, where he was a senior buyer.
He said that experience provides a "retail mindset" that is part of Lane's "dedication to the success of the retailer." He added that the company has a "focus that is flexible. We're not going to walk in and tell the retailer we're going to take over their space. Their needs are different from retailer to retailer." He said his job will be to customize the fit between manufacturer and retailer.
