Capel showing Idol rugs
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, September 9, 2001
TROY, N.C. — Capel has been named a licensee of the Dick Idol home furnishings program and is showing its first rug collections in the Klaussner showroom at premarket this week.
Dick Idol rugs also will be shown in Capel's Market Square showroom, said Kea Capel Meachem, director of marketing and creative services for the rug maker and importer. The presentation includes two wool tufted collections, a group of hooks and two braids. Price points will be in the medium range.
"We're excited about this program because we are great believers in the lifestyle approach to marketing," Meachem said. "Stores such as Bass Outdoor and Cabela's Outdoor Sports go far beyond traditional retailing. They are centers for entertainment, demonstrations and dining. It's fun. These stores become a destination for a family outing. It may be the future of retailing."
