NHFA: Ask Me Anything

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, September 9, 2001

The National Home Furnishings Assn. has released details of its upcoming all-industry convention.

Set for March 9-11 in the Rosen Plaza Hotel in Orlando, Fla., the Ask Me Anything convention — so named because of the emphasis on problem-solving and networking — will be the NHFA's first since 1998 in Boston.

Peter Glen, a retail consultant and a popular critic and speaker, will open the program. In one of three breakout sessions, Joe Carroll, publisher of Furniture/Today, will moderate a panel on the future of the furniture industry. Panelists will include Jerry Epperson, Jim Gabbert, Ellen Gefen and Jeff Young.

Another breakout session will feature Rick Stark, of Profitsystems software, on what distinguishes high-profit stores. Samantha Kurtz, a consultant, will talk about how outstanding customer service can contribute to increased profits.

Other featured speakers will include John Satagaj, NHFA's legislative counsel, and Connie Post, a retail consultant specializing in design and brand development.

The convention starts Saturday, March 9, and closes Monday with dinner and entertainment. For more information, contact the NHFA at (800) 888-9590.
