WATERLOO, Ontario — Ron Balzer, a veteran sales executive, has been named national sales manager for La-Z-Boy Canada.
He succeeds Mark Wiltshire, who was promoted to vice president of sales and marketing for the subsidiary of U.S.-based La-Z-Boy earlier this year on the retirement of Iain Douglas.
"Ron's responsibilities will encompass the management of our Canadian sales force and all facets of our in-store gallery program," Wiltshire said.
Most recently, Balzer was vice president of sales and operations for Universal Furniture (Canada). Prior to that, he was with Palliser Furniture for 15 years, holding various posts in sales, marketing and merchandising.
Balzer began his career in sales and management with now-defunct Defehr Furniture and Appliances, a retailer in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
