AFMA members offered Federal Express discounts

HIGH POINT — American Furniture Manufacturers Assn. members can receive discounted rates on Federal Express shipping through a new program being launched this month. Discounts are available on ground, express, international and multi-weight packages.

The savings, based on FedEx base rates, range from a 5% savings for under-five-pound packages on ground travel to as much as 30% on express international letters and packages.

"AFMA is really pleased to be able to offer this benefit to our members," said Brent Burton, director of transportation and logistics. "This will translate into substantial savings on shipping for many of our members."
