HIGH POINT — HIGH POINT — Software development company RightLinx has hired Paul Risen, formerly with VerticalNet, as chief operating officer.
Earlier, RightLinx named Tom Lowenthal vice president of sales and marketing, and Chris King manager of direct sales. Both are new positions for the company, which aims to provide information tools to link customers and suppliers through the Web.
At VerticalNet, Risen was vice president of applications. Previously, he co-founded TextileWeb, an online community for the textile and apparel industry, and August-Martin, a software development company.
Lowenthal previously directed franchise services for Norwalk Furniture. His two decades in furniture retailing and manufacturing gives him "an in-depth perspective on the total business process involved," said Brent Hilleary, president of RightLinx.
King had been an account consultant with business-to-business Internet company Furndex. "Chris' experience with e-business applications in the furniture industry will be of great value," Hilleary said.
