Global Home covers both the tropics and rustic fronts in two groups of casual accent rugs with the natural texture and look of jute. Moose, bears and fish are prominent players in The Lodge collection. Palm trees, elephant and animal skins make up the Safari collection. Expressions is Wilton woven in the United States of soft, space-dyed New Zealand wool. Patterns are influenced by both the Arts & Crafts movement and Oushak tribal designs. Luster washed for an antique patina, cross weaving brings greater depth of color and shading, $599.

Metropolitan is a 100% wool Chinese hand-tufted collection in six contemporary and transitional designs, $299.

Another group of lamontage designs is geared to the middle to upper price points and is handcrafted in India. It is marketed through Trans Ocean Import Co.

Manne is branching out into the lighting and accessories field with two groups of lamontage lamps. Designer-oriented shades featuring retro geometric shapes and colors will be sold through the lamontage design studio. Another group is targeted to broader audiences in department stores, catalogues and home accent channels. It will be shown at the Lamontage-Trans Ocean Imports rug showroom Price points have not yet been set.
LOUIS DE POORTERE 6F11
In a major revamp of the line, Louis de Poortere is offering new coordinated programs and merchandising units that pull together the entire line of rugs, runners and broadloom. All are machine made in Belgium of 100% wool, and several carry the Wools of New Zealand label.

Runners: The company is nearly doubling its runner assortment. Four new collections include Vincenzo, Antalia Cordal, Richelieu and Classics. LDP also adds 300 SKUs to its existing Jeravan, Mossoul Pergame and Mahajeran collections. It is launching the Louis Organizer, a fully rebatable merchandising unit which displays up to 240 samples of runners, rugs, and broadloom as well as fabricated options.

Combines by Louis de Poortere is a coordination program that covers 40 matching runner, rug and broadloom qualities from the company's Wools of New Zealand branded lines.

Inspired by the classic Persian designs found in English country houses, Mastercraft Imports' new Severn Manor collection is Axminster woven in the United Kingdom of 100% New Zealand wool. Each of the six designs has more than 36 colors in a palette of deep jewel tones, $1,299.

Two new hand-crafted product lines are specifically designed and colored to coordinate with today's trends in bed and bath textiles. Both programs are floral designs in pastel colors. The Flores collection is a cotton petit point and Petals is handtufted of wool, $399 in 5'6" by 8'6".

Nicholas is a collection of 13 transitional and contemporary rugs designed through a collaboration of MER and an Italian textile design company. Handknotted of wool, $1,399 in 5'6" by 8'6".

Milas is a group of traditional designs handknotted in China. High quality wool and a light wash result in a subtle blend of color and texture, $1499 in 5'6" by 8'6".
MILLIKEN 6E3
Milliken's Innovations collection is a part of the company's broad-based merchandising support program. The 50 designs are available in a display system featuring a large rug along with a group of mini rugs in all the available colors. This allows retailers to show several looks on one arm of a display rack. The nylon rugs are printed using the Millitron patterning technique ($299, 6' by 9').
MOHAWK HOME 6A2
Mohawk Home is expanding and refining its existing area rug collections.

Printed area rugs: The Chris Madden collection features designs with a serene, casual look. Sizes range from a accent pieces to 5' by 8' area rugs. The Cheri Blum collection is expanded to 20 patterns. The 5' by 8' size will be added to all patterns to complement existing scatter rug sizes. The print collections retail at $150 in 5' by 8'. Mohawk Home will also add 15 new novelty print designs, $29 to $49 in accent sizes.

Tufted area rugs: The mass market line gets a complete overhaul. Texture becomes more important as Mohawk adds retro shag constructions and frieze yarns to achieve more surface appeal, $79 to $99 in 5' by 8'.

Woven area rugs: Mohawk will concentrate primarily on expanding the Essentials line at the opening price point of $100 in 5' by 8'. The Velvet Impressions collection is a step up construction, $149 to $199 in 5' by 8'. There will be 10 to 15 new patterns in each group, incorporating a variety of themes, including animal prints and antique looks.

Since trade resumed between the United States and Iran last year, many rug companies are bringing in Iranian handmade products. Momeni is unique for importing both handmade and machine-made Iranian rugs.

The Atlanta market represents Moren's first venture into the handmade business. The company recently purchased the assets of Corinthian Rugs, the specialist in hand-tufted rugs.

The new Corinthian collection by Moren includes the Element collection, which includes six designs based on master artists of the 20th century. The thick hand-tufted rugs are carved to achieve dramatic textural effects, $799.

Moren's Isparta collection is machine made of New Zealand wool in Paisley, Tabriz and Isfahan designs, $ 599.

Nourison unveils its extensive Calvin Klein collections, a major marketing program featuring spare and elegant architectural designs with dense textures and subtly shaded colors. Several designs are highlighted with glimmers of silk. The Calvin Klein rugs bring an understated message to the normally ornate world of rugs. All major constructions are represented, including hand-knotted, hand-tufted, hand-woven and power-loomed. The rugs are stocked for immediate delivery. Prices hit several points on the upper part of the spectrum, $675 to $3,400.

Nourison is also making extensive additions to the Nourison 2000 collection featuring such classic Oriental rug designs as a documentary Moghul, all-over Kashan, an intricate Star Tabriz and a deep ruby red sarouk. Handtufted of wool with accents of silk. Octagon shapes are now being added to the assortment of traditional rectangles, rounds, ovals and runners in the group, $1,500.

Field O'Flors has a soft cream background with delicate red poppies scattered on the border. Center field is bordered by scroll and leaf motif. Handtufted of 100% wool, $499.

Rosebud is a juvenile product that bridges tastes of both children and adult. The soft floral motif features lavender rose buds and blossoms on a white field. Dye-cut roses extend beyond the border. Handhooked of 100% cotton, $100 in 3' by 5'.
