Klaussner expands showroom for wood
By Jeff Linville -- Furniture Today, April 14, 2002
ASHEBORO, N.C. — Klaussner Furniture has added 20,000 square feet to its showroom here and is dedicating the space to case goods for the April market.
The bedroom, dining room, home entertainment and occasional furniture includes five full collections, said Darren York, merchandising manager for case goods.
Some of the home entertainment and occasional pieces are shown in living room settings with upholstery so retailers can see how it all works together.
Klaussner is introducing 16 occasional table groups this market, many in three-packs for $199. The items come in a broad mix of styles and materials. One group is made of solid hardwood with leather straps, nailheads and banana leaf baskets.
Work on the showroom expansion began in February, said Angela Arrington, director of marketing services.
The area devoted to the Dick Idol licensed collection hasn't been affected. New Idol pieces here include occasional to go with the Glacier Mountain bedroom items introduced in October. The occasional goods have French applications, curved drawer fronts, raffia accents and heavy crowns.
Klaussner also is showing more of its upholstery offerings. A new leather program brings in finished frames from China, with sofas starting at $599.
