Guzman and Perez acquire Casa Blanca

HIGH POINT — HIGH POINT — Leonardo Nino de Guzman and Victor Hugo Perez have purchased Bolivian-based solid-wood and veneer case goods manufacturer Casa Blanca International from previous owner Alberto Schuab.
De Guzman and Perez are now president and vice president, respectively, of Casa Blanca, a 30-year-old manufacturer that made its High Point debut at the October 2001 market.
The line includes occasional, dining room, bedroom and office pieces in premium South American woods. The product is warehoused in High Point, the company's North American headquarters, with 60- to 90-day lead times for orders, as well as a quick-ship line of occasional product
In addition to its own products, Casa Blanca is showcasing two Spanish-made case goods lines, which are being shown in High Point for the first time at the April market. Casa Blanca International is the exclusive representative for Vincent Montoro and Antico, both with plants in Valencia, Spain.
Casa Blanca is introducing the products from Spain in an attempt to broaden the company's price offering. The Spanish items feature hand carving but utilize MDF components and will be priced accordingly.
"We are very pleased to bring hand-carved wood furniture to the American market in a variety of price points," said Guzman.
Casa Blanca International's showroom is at 422 North Wrenn St., where the company will host a cocktail reception on Tuesday, April 23, from 7 to 9 p.m.
