LIVERPOOL, N.Y. — LIVERPOOL, N.Y. — The Central New York Sales & Marketing Executives group has honored the Goldberg family, owners of retailer Raymour & Flanigan Furniture, with the 28th annual Crystal Ball Award for professional and community contributions.
The Goldberg family opened its first store in Syracuse, N.Y., in 1947. Today, the company is the largest furniture retailer in the Northeast and ranks 16th on Furniture/Today's Top 100 U.S. furniture stores, according to 2002 sales.
"Our commitment to customer service, innovation and quality distinguishes Raymour & Flanigan in the marketplace and continues to help us grow," said Neil Goldberg, president and CEO.
Raymour & Flanigan Furniture contributes to charitable causes in communities where its stores are, including donations of television and radio airtime, materials and financial support to children and women's educational and health-related causes. Of special interest to the company are programs helping children to read, learn and be safe and programs collecting items for those who go without.
"Our success must be attributed to the hard work and dedication of our more than 2,400 associates who have worked diligently, and have contributed enormously to our growth," said Goldberg.
